About Margaret
I am friendly and empathetic. I have a thirst for learning and finding practical ways to support ourselves and those we walk alongside. My core values include respect, integrity, curiosity, listening, honouring, valuing people to name a few. I enjoy walking our dog Pippin and doing crafts. Margaret works from her home office in Tawa, Wellington, New Zealand. Online supervision is available. |
Experience in Supervision
I have been a professional supervisor for over 10 years. I have supervised a range of professions: social workers, counsellors, doctors, nurse specialists, volunteer managers, support people, chaplains, people in the military to name a few. As a supervisor I have regular supervision.
Professional Background and Qualifications
Certificate in Supervision from WelTec, Counselling Diploma from Laidlaw College and a Postgraduate Certificate in Health Science from Auckland University. Over twenty years (2005-2026) I worked in Family Support and Training with the Child Cancer Foundation, the Cancer Society Wellington Division and Te Omanga Hospice in the Hutt Valley.
Approach
I work with a strength-based narrative approach. I train and work with Polyvagel insights, somatic breathing, grounding and other practical ways to support clients/whānau.
Most common support areas
I offer reflective practice, acknowledgment of the ebb and flow of people’s needs, flexible compassion, responsiveness and a deeply rooted relationship focus. I work with grief, loss, meaning making and curiosity. I identify strengths and areas that can support clients and others. By honouring the natural flow of people/whānau and recognising autonomy and resilience, we help build a community uplifted by aroha, manaakitanga, and shared responsibility.
I am available for Supervision on Thursdays and Fridays. Loss, grief and transitions training by arrangement.
Margaret charges $160 per session for Supervision
Loss, Grief & Transitions Training fees are set after negotiation
